Airbnb common stock and Airbnb's own 2029 bond depend on the same business, but the holders have different claims. The stock participates in residual value after obligations. The bond promises scheduled interest and principal, subject to payment, call and credit risk. A fixed coupon does not make the bond's market price or realized return fixed.
The dated stock and the new report
ABNB closed the completed November 5 regular session at $170.13, down from $176.37 on November 4. Its $168.96 50-day and $147.50 200-day simple averages were below that close. The company reported Q3 results after the November 5 close, so those results did not cause the completed regular-session decline by themselves. Any subsequent price response needs a separate dated observation and a completed daily close to establish a chart-level reclaim.
Airbnb reported $4.869 billion of Q3 2026 GAAP revenue, up 18.9% year over year, and company-defined $1.426 billion of free cash flow. It announced authorization for up to an additional $12 billion of common-share repurchases. Authorization is capacity, not shares already purchased or guaranteed shareholder return. The company's Q3 letter also raised its full-year revenue-growth and adjusted-EBITDA-margin outlook; those are forecasts.
The specific bond
The comparison is Airbnb's 4.400% senior unsecured notes due March 16, 2029, CUSIP 009066AC5. The March 2026 SEC filing documents $850 million issued. Interest is scheduled semiannually on March 16 and September 16. At the stated coupon, $2,000 face value would pay $88 per full year, or $44 per ordinary half-year period, while the note remains outstanding and the issuer pays. The minimum denomination is $2,000.
The issuer may redeem the note early under its indenture, and a defined change-of-control triggering event can require a repurchase offer. The note is senior but unsecured. A bondholder has a contractual claim ahead of common equity, yet can lose money through default, changing rates or credit spreads, poor liquidity, or sale before maturity.
What the gap cannot tell us yet
We have not verified a current trade price, executable offer, yield to maturity or yield to worst for this exact note. The 4.400% coupon is not the return from buying it today: a buyer's price, accrued interest, fees, calls and eventual payments would matter. Nor does ABNB's stock price alone reveal its expected return. The new Q3 cash flow supports an issuer-level discussion but does not decide which claim is better.
The next checks are the stock's completed daily response to the report and a dated transaction or firm quote for CUSIP 009066AC5 before any market-yield comparison. See Stock Reviews, Daily Levels, and the newsletter. Market research only, not a recommendation to buy or sell.
