Toast closed the completed November 4 U.S. regular session at $35.37, up 5.49% from $33.53. Its third-quarter report arrived after the preceding session. The report is useful context for the next day's move, though price action alone cannot establish what caused it.
Price and dated levels
The close was above Toast's 50-day average of $31.90 and its 200-day average of $29.35. Shares reached $36.02 intraday, a 20-session high, then finished below it. The August 25 intraday high of $37.20 remains above. A reclaim or loss of a chart level calls for a daily close, rather than an intraday touch.
What the quarter reported
Toast reported third-quarter GAAP revenue of $1.981 billion, up 21.3% from a year earlier, and GAAP diluted EPS of $0.29. Its company-defined non-GAAP subscription and fintech gross profit rose 27% to $642 million. That metric is distinct from revenue and total GAAP gross profit.
Management raised its full-year 2026 outlook for that non-GAAP gross-profit measure to $2.375 billion–$2.385 billion, and its adjusted EBITDA outlook to $840 million–$850 million. These are forecasts. The quarterly results are unaudited, and future results may differ. The company also announced a CFO transition for January 2027; neither item alone proves why the stock advanced.
What to watch
The next useful comparison is whether Toast can hold above its moving averages on completed daily closes and eventually close through the August high. See Daily Levels and the newsletter. Market research only, not a recommendation to buy or sell.
