This setup review uses completed Friday, October 30 regular-session candles for stocks and ETFs. Bitcoin trades through the weekend, so it is measured separately on UTC daily candles. The question for the week ahead is whether the sharp technology selloff can find a daily floor, or whether broken moving averages keep acting as tests. These are dated observations and conditions, not live calls or price targets.

Moving averages are simple averages of daily closes through October 30. Price changes are close-to-close, rounded to two decimals.
SPY and QQQ: below the 50-day, above the 200-day
SPY closed at $755.72, down 1.77% on the day, above its intraday low of $750.36. It finished below its 50-day average of $767.49 and above its 200-day average of $728.85: near-term damage inside a broader range. A daily close back above the 50-day, followed by a retest that also closes above it, would be stronger evidence of repair. A future daily close below Friday's intraday low would show the decline had not yet found a floor. An intraday cross alone decides neither case.
QQQ closed at $690.49, down 3.47%. It sits below its 50-day average of $725.00 and above its 200-day average of $679.52. Friday's intraday low, $683.45, sits close to that longer average. The next completed daily close matters more than any touch during the session: holding the low and later recovering the 50-day would read differently from losing the low and bringing the 200-day into the daily test.
Bitcoin and Strategy: related, not in lockstep
Bitcoin's October 30 UTC daily candle closed at $77,198.21, down 4.78% from the October 23 UTC daily close. It stayed below its 50-day average of $81,891.13 and above its 200-day average of $73,115.41. The October 30 UTC low was $76,189.88. Because Bitcoin keeps trading while stock markets are closed, any weekend price is its own dated observation, not a Friday stock-market close.
Strategy (MSTR) closed at $130.51, down 7.84%, below both its 50-day average of $143.67 and its 200-day average of $134.56. Friday's intraday low of $124.06 is the downside reference. A daily close back above the 200-day, then a successful daily retest, would begin to repair the chart. A daily close below Friday's low would show the weakness persisted, whatever Bitcoin does over the weekend.
Apple: a different structure
Apple (AAPL) closed at $344.63, down 1.23%, but stayed above its 50-day average of $333.04 and well above its 200-day average of $296.56. Friday traded as low as $334.35 before recovering into the close, a dated intraday reference near the 50-day. If Apple holds the 50-day on completed daily closes and later recovers the October 23 high of $351.73, Friday's deep range would not have turned into a sustained break. A daily close below the 50-day would weaken that reading.
Broadcom and Nebius: one headline does not fit every stock
Broadcom (AVGO) closed at $326.08, down 5.48%, below both its 50-day average of $352.81 and its 200-day average of $367.67. Friday's intraday low of $319.30 was its lowest price in six months and is the immediate downside reference. A daily reclaim and retest of the 50-day would be meaningful, with a sizable distance to cross first.
Nebius (NBIS) closed at $154.14, down 10.38%, below both its 200-day average of $177.49 and its much higher 50-day average of $209.70. The October 26 intraday low of $149.48 is a separate downside test, just under Friday's own low of $149.96. A small bounce would not, by itself, restore the prior trend.
Next week's calendar
The official schedules list ISM Manufacturing PMI on Monday, November 2; the September JOLTS job-openings report and AMD's fiscal third-quarter results, after the market close, on Tuesday, November 3; ISM Services PMI on Wednesday, November 4; and the October Employment Situation report on Friday, November 6. These are scheduled events with unknown outcomes.
AMD finished Friday at $504.80, down 10.88%, below its 50-day average of $548.29 and above its 200-day average of $410.49. The report can move that chart, but the report itself and the market's completed daily response need to be read separately.
The setup list
- SPY and QQQ: daily evidence of repair above their broken 50-day averages.
- Strategy: recover its 200-day average, with Bitcoin's weekend price treated as its own dated market.
- Apple: defend the 50-day on completed daily closes.
- Broadcom and Nebius: show more than an intraday bounce.
