Earnings Divide: October 27 After Close
SPY recovered above its 50-day average, while QQQ remained below its own. The earnings names split further: SoFi and Celestica held sizable gains, Corning and Coca-Cola closed lower, and Seagate, Robinhood and Visa reported after the bell. All daily prices and volume below are from the completed October 27, 2026 U.S. regular session. Premarket and early after-hours observations are identified separately and are not plotted as daily candles. Prices are U.S. dollars.
SPY: back above its 50-day
SPY closed at $769.66, above Monday's $765.37 close and its $767.53 50-day average. The October 6 high near $781.62 remains overhead. A later daily close holding above the 50-day would support the rebound; a daily close below Monday's low near $762.00 would weaken it. Tuesday's share volume was 33.77% below its prior 20-session average, so the price recovery did not come with stronger daily turnover.
QQQ: recovered, but still below the 50-day
QQQ closed at $721.25, above Monday's $712.20 close and Monday's high near $715.00. The $725.26 50-day average still sits above it; the $678.23 200-day is lower. A daily close above the 50-day would strengthen the recovery case. A daily close below the October 23 low near $701.00 would weaken it. Tuesday's volume was 18.58% below its prior 20-session average.

Corning: results and price parted ways
Corning entered the morning watch near $130.00 in the recorded premarket print, then closed at $126.30, down from Monday's $127.74 close. It traded marginally below the October 23 low near $122.00 intraday, but recovered above that level by the close. The stock remained below its $149.51 50-day and $155.08 200-day averages. Corning reported more than $5 billion of non-GAAP core sales and 44% optical-communications growth; those company figures alone do not establish why the share price took its path. A daily close above Monday's high near $129.00 would be an initial repair sign; a daily close below Tuesday's $121.75 intraday low would make the breakdown clearer. Issuer release.
SoFi: strong price response, 50-day still to reclaim
SoFi's recorded morning print was just above $16.00. It closed at $16.40, up 13.42% from Monday's $14.46 close. The stock cleared Monday's high near $15.00 and crossed its $16.63 50-day average intraday, but closed below the average. Daily share volume was 259.42% above its prior 20-session average. SoFi reported about $1.4 billion of quarterly revenue and more than 17 million members. Technology-platform revenue fell 24% from a year earlier, largely following a large client's prior exit; excluding that client, segment revenue grew 18%. A daily close above the 50-day would extend the repair; a retreat below Monday's high would give back part of the breakout. Issuer release.
Coca-Cola: closed below Monday's low
Coca-Cola was near $92.00 in the recorded premarket snapshot and closed at $91.18, below Monday's $92.70 close and Monday's low near $92.00. It remains above its $89.29 50-day and $81.81 200-day averages. The company reported 7% non-GAAP organic revenue growth and raised its non-GAAP full-year free-cash-flow outlook from about $12.4 billion to at least $13 billion; North American unit volume was flat. A daily reclaim of Monday's low would repair the near-term break. A daily close below the 50-day would be a more meaningful change. Issuer release.
Celestica: first full session after results
Celestica had reported on Monday evening, making Tuesday its first completed regular-session price test. The recorded morning watch print was near $274.00; the stock closed at $276.54, above Monday's $246.65 close and Monday's high near $273.00. This supports a short rebound, but the stock remains below its $325.87 50-day and $332.80 200-day averages. Revenue rose 83% from a year earlier. The company reduced its full-year non-GAAP free-cash-flow outlook from $600 million to $460 million, citing working-capital investment for expected growth. A later daily close holding above Monday's high would support the rebound; losing Tuesday's $261.50 low would weaken it. Issuer release.
Seagate: new fiscal-quarter report, old chart decline
Seagate closed the regular session at $667.85, up from Monday's $644.21, but below its $809.96 50-day and $687.14 200-day averages. The report arrived after this completed daily candle. Fiscal first-quarter revenue was about $4.2 billion, up 61% year over year; non-GAAP free cash flow was about $1.5 billion. Seagate guided next-quarter revenue to about $4.8 billion, plus or minus $100 million. The 200-day area is a daily-close reclaim test; a failure below it leaves the longer decline unresolved. An early postmarket print near $620.00 was roughly 7% below the regular close. It is an observation, not another October 27 daily close. Issuer release.
Robinhood: record revenue, mixed business lines
Robinhood closed the regular session at $94.56, above its $93.04 200-day average and below its $108.78 50-day. The later report showed about $1.4 billion in revenue. GAAP diluted EPS fell 16% to $0.51; the separately introduced adjusted EPS measure was $0.60. Crypto revenue fell 55% year over year while event-contract revenue grew more than sixfold. An early after-hours print near $90.00 was more than 4% below the regular close; it is not a daily candle. Holding the 200-day on a later daily close would help the chart; losing it would expose the rebound. Issuer release.
Visa: fiscal-quarter strength, next-session chart test
Visa closed at $401.86, above its $378.73 50-day and $341.08 200-day averages. Its fiscal fourth-quarter release came later: revenue was about $12 billion, up 13%, with GAAP diluted EPS of $3.19 and a separately reported non-GAAP figure of $3.48. These fiscal-quarter figures should not be put beside another company's calendar-quarter figures as if the periods matched. Early after-hours Visa quotes differed too much across available observations for a useful exact move. The next completed regular session will test whether Visa holds above its 50-day area. Issuer release.
What comes next
The Federal Reserve's two-day meeting is under way, with a decision scheduled for October 28. SPY has reclaimed its 50-day; QQQ still needs its own daily close above. The company reports show that strong sales, margins and cash generation have not produced the same price response in every name. Tomorrow's completed daily closes will provide the next chart test.
