Nvidia and Broadcom both fell in the completed October 30 regular session, but their dated chart positions differ. Nvidia finished just above its 200-day average. Broadcom made a new six-month intraday low and closed below both of its major averages. The comparison is about what each price has to repair next, not a claim that one company caused the other's move or that either share is a better purchase.

Nvidia: testing the long-term average
Nvidia closed at $204.64, only $0.26 above its calculated $204.38 200-day average. The 50-day average was higher at $221.75. Its six-month intraday low was $189.80 on June 29. A daily close below the 200-day would change today's narrow hold of that line; a sustained repair would first need daily closes back above the 50-day. The June low is a dated reference, not a forecast.
Broadcom: a new low
Broadcom closed at $326.08 after setting a $319.30 intraday low, its lowest price in the six-month window. Its 50-day average was $352.81 and its 200-day average $367.67, both above the close. On an estimated volume-by-price view, a high-volume six-month cluster runs from $348.58 to $399.83, with its single busiest band at $355.90–$363.23. A daily close back inside that cluster would show the first reclaim of that dated trading area; a higher daily close over the two averages would be a separate, stronger test. An intraday bounce would not meet either condition. The estimated profile is a 24-band replica from TradingView hourly Cboe BATS bars, a partial feed covering about 9% of consolidated volume. It is not TradingView's native Visible Range Volume Profile and does not identify buying or selling intent.
Different businesses, different reporting periods
Nvidia's latest reported fiscal second quarter, ended July 26, had $96.2 billion of revenue, including $89.0 billion from Data Center. Broadcom's latest reported fiscal third quarter, ended August 2, included $16.7 billion of AI semiconductor revenue and $13.7 billion of company-defined free cash flow. Those categories and fiscal periods are different: Nvidia's Data Center segment is broader than Broadcom's AI semiconductor line, so their dollar totals cannot be used as a market-share score. Both are issuer-reported historical figures, not a result for October 30 or a single explanation for the share moves.
For now, the price question is whether Nvidia can keep closing over its 200-day while Broadcom can regain its broken price area. The next company reports and guidance will provide a separate business test. Market research only, not a recommendation to buy or sell.
