The October 13 close
This dated walkthrough compares October 12 regular-session closes with the October 13 morning pre-market observations and October 13 completed regular-session closes. It is not a continuously live feed.
SPY
Yesterday, SPY closed near 778. It was still around there in pre-market, and finished right back there today. So, another mostly flat session.
It did slip below the morning low around 777, then recovered. That's better than finishing down there, but we still haven't cleared the bigger hurdle: the October sixth intraday high around 782.
I'd like to see a break above it, a backtest, and a daily close above the level. We didn't get that today. I'm watching today's low near 776, then the October eighth low near 770.
QQQ
The Qs closed around 746 yesterday and were closer to 741 this morning. They finished near 744, down about a third of a percent. So they recovered some ground, but they still lagged SPY.
They dipped below the morning low around 740, then closed above the October eighth low around 743. They couldn't get back above yesterday's low near 745. That's the next reclaim I'd watch, with yesterday's high around 750 above it. The session low around 739 is the downside reference if this bounce fades.
Vistra (VST)
Vistra had the strongest turnaround of these five. It went from yesterday's close near 158 to around 154 in pre-market, then finished near 162, up about two-and-a-half percent on the day.
This morning, getting back above 155 was the first test. It did that, recovered the 200-day average, and also cleared the morning high near 157. Yesterday's high around 164 is still above us, followed by last week's high around 169.
Vistra: longer history
That recovery looks better, but the longer chart still matters. From its September 2025 closing peak to the later low, Vistra lost about 38 percent. It's now rebounded about 21 percent from that low and is still about 26 percent below that peak.
Micron (MU)
Micron is a different picture. It closed near 989 yesterday, was around 941 in pre-market, and finished near 953. That's still a drop of more than three-and-a-half percent.
The morning low around 938 didn't hold. It traded down to about 929 before recovering. The next things I'd watch are today's high around 954, then the morning high around 969. The updated 50-day average is around 982. Until it can reclaim that, this remains a bounce inside a weaker recent chart.
SoFi (SOFI)
SoFi barely changed. It closed near 15 yesterday and stayed around there in pre-market and at the close.
That keeps it inside the broader, roughly 15-to-20 range we've been watching since late March. It didn't close below 15 today. But it's still near the bottom of the range and below its moving averages. The first area I'd watch for improvement is around 16. That's where yesterday's high and the 20-day average sit.
SoFi: earlier insider sales
The Insider Analyzer adds context here. This morning's scan showed just under nine hundred thousand dollars in earlier common-share sales. All four entries referenced trading plans.
